Nursing Tip of the Day by SE Bellagosi Nursing Agency

NURSING TIP OF THE DAY: Although the Doctor writes the orders, some nursing duties are considered independent nursing duties meaning the nurse can perform the duty without a Doctor's order. To illustrate, administering 2L of oxygen in response to hypovolemic shock, withholding insulin if the blood sugar level is too low, and withholding blood pressure medicine if the blood pressure or pulse is too low. Check your facilities policies about independent nursing duties. This tip is presented by SE Bellagosi Nursing Agency. www.bellacarenursing.com.
